Thumbs up Labor Day weekend Upper Kenai Report

So we hit the water around 9am on saturday. The first of back to back days on the water. What a day saturday was. Launched out of sportsman's in just a short sleeve shirt. Never had to add another layer all day. Blue bird skys, no wind and upper 60's on the water. Nicest day of the year on the water for June and I. Fishing was good. No hogs caught but plenty of the 20 to 24 inch range both Dolly's and Bows. Sunday was the normal weather. Cloudy and overcast with the wind blowing down the river. Hooked up with LV2FSH from the site here (aka) Jose and his friend sam on the powerline channel and man did i have a blast with those 2 guys. Lots and lots of fish caught and new channels explored. Sam caught at least 20 fish yesterday. I hooked the "ONE" Feaking hog of a bow. Got to enjoy him for 5 to 7 minutes but he schooled me. From what the wife says he was one handsome fish. He was one of those fish that you only get a shot at a few times a year. I have run the fight over and over in my head hundreds of times and I did not do anything wrong. He won. That is the fun of a 5wt and barbless hooks too. I do lose more that I win. Juse caught 2 nice bows that you can see in the pictures that I will attach. So to Jose, just how good is that Cuervo channel. Sam thinks Hot pink at noon catches all the fish. Great day, met some new friends, Oh and ask them about the dinner my wife cooked for them. Yum Yum I just cant wait for the 16th to get here. 12 straight days on the river baby.

    Default these guys

Chuck tells no lies about this gargantuan Rainbow he had on..... but too badd ... YOU SUCK CHUCK!!!! just kidding my friend. But all in all.. he lost his one.. i heard the f bomb drop from 2 beaches away!
Hot pink at Noon is the trick to dollies on cuervo... but JUST WHERE IS CUERVO CHANNEL? haha doesnt matter anyways... That Jun can pull a fish out of any spot... its a little degrading to her husband and all surrounding individiuals i must say. But its all good because being on the river beats being at work either way!!!! You and your wife are cool people chuck, and expect a call from me so we can light it up and take shots down the river. Btw, I didnt even need to eat a breakfast the next morning.... THANKS FOR DINNER JUN!!!!!!

oh and also chuck.... yeah your right

It was a great next day man... too bad you 2 werent there with us!
