I am interested in floating the Wood River in the North Alaska Range and am curious if anyone has any experience from the past and what they encountered from the upper river to the Nenana. I have a friend that floated the upper portion of it in a round raft and had to work hard because of it being shallow and cutting up one log jam. Last year I was there hunting sheep and it reminded me of the Hartman River and upper part of the South Fork of the Kuskokwim...fast elevation drop and braided out.
