Sat I headed out with w troop and wildboar. Water was good, but for some strange reason it did not agree with 3 people on the boat. Names will not be mentioned to protect the inocent.
Since Silver action was slow we headed out of the bay to the chiwells for some yellow eye and Lings. The current was ripping by the Chiswells so we head around Chat cove and surronding areas. It did not take long before our first fish was in the boat. Sea bass yummm. As the day progresed the fish box filled up. By noon we had our limit of lings. We moved to a chicken hole that someone on this fourm gave me. (Thank you very much for it) We caught a dogfish, two chickens and some yelloweyes which was odd because it was a sandy bottom with no rocks.
Sunday we went out again. this time the water was like bath water. We fished Pony in the morning and did ok. Had several take downs but lost them. Why is it that Humpies never fall of the hook? any way we also landed several feeder kings and lost a nice king at the boat. We ended up with 5 silvers. The soldier landed a very nice #16 silver, but time was not on side to make it back to the dock to weigh it in. so we decided to go back out and have some more fun. Went to a new place and tried for some more lings. In two hours we landed and released 2 dozen lings. some under 35 and others over. One we released was about 55 inches. We kept two that day. It was cool watching all the herring swim under the boat and the silvers giving chase. Whales were out in full force.
As for the Soldier he had a blast. No derby winning silver but a smile that will last a life time and the for his young partner (son) memories that we will tell his friends and kids one day.
Queens of Kings it was good meeting you.
