    Default A Homer Halibut Question

Is the last week in August too late for halibut fishing in Homer? The freezer has zero halibut right now, lookin' grim for flatfish.
    Pogi Point?
Hike faster. I hear banjo music.

Nope, not too late. I have been out in the middle of September and done well.

    Thumbs up

Pogi Point should be fine, but if you have the boat/time, I have found the fishing out by Flat Island to be much more consistent -- even this late in the year.

Go out to Flat or Bird reef and then out about 11 miles. Put your time in, you will get fish.
