    Question New Boat

I stumbled on what I think is a good deal and couldn't pass it up. A 20' 2001 Searunner 100 Yamaha (SR200) with new bimini (Buster's) with drop back curtains. 2 Cannon elec downriggers. Less than 300 hrs on the whole package. Trailer is like new. The original owner had a slip in Seward, so low miles on the trailer. I paid $18K. Does that sound about right? What's the skinny on Hewescraft SR's? Any shared experience is much appreciated.

    Congrats on the boat!

I am absolutely clueless on boat pricing, there are so many factors that go into what a boat is worth that it's all just a ballpark. I doubt you could get a similar boat new for double what you paid, and even though it's a 7 y/o boat, it has little more than one hard seasons worth of use on it. It's a nice skiff and the yammy 100 is a solid engine.

Sounds like you done good, and there's definately enough summer left to break in the new to you boat with some fish slime and blood

Just don't forget the safety equipment, and I'd add a few cold water immersion suits as well. If you keep your eyes pealed on flea bay and craigslist you can get a gumby suit for $100-150.

    Default Sweet Deal

    Doug,
Sounds like a sweet deal. I do spend a bunch of time looking at boats, conditions, and prices. Enjoy.

Sounds like a fair deal to me. I had a pair of F100's on my old hewescraft and they were flawless for the 1000 hours I ran them. Great engines. I have a couple of aluminum props that are taking space in my garage that will fit that engine. Not sure of the sizes off the top of my head, but can check and if they will work you can have them. Time for some bloody deck pictures!
