    Default Shipping a moose

I am going to be in a bush village this fall that is reported to have very good moose hunting and was wondering what people thought about how practcal shiping a moose in from a small village would be?

The village is up river from dillingham.

We have shipped moose from that region using wetloc boxes on Northern Air Cargo. Worked well and didn't break the bank.

Will it be dead or alive?

Where are you planning to hunt? If you are not a resident of the watershed Choggiung Ltd, the Native Corp that owns the majority of the land along the Nushagak charges a $1500.00 land use fee. They patrol daily during moose season.

The upper reaches of the Nushagak are state land, but will take some planning.

    good luck.

I thought it might be pretty expensive to ship one in a large crate. ( how do you get it in?) Don't know if NAC would take it though

Call the folks at the Anchorage zoo - see how they shipped Maggie and you can probably take that route. Expensive, but hey, not everybody has a pet moose.
