AF guy new to the area looking for help
Hi, I moved to Eagle River last fall from Mississippi with the Air Force and I do not have any idea where to find birds up here. I am hoping someone here will be willing to help a new guy out by either sharing a hunt with me or a location to kill some birds. I am not looking for your secret honey hole but maybe a place you used to hunt before you found someplace better. I like low pressure holes, less birds and less people is ok with me. I have a great dog and decoys. Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are willing to help. Have a great season!! I can't wait to fold some.
From your posts in the ATV forum I would suggest that you already know how to access some good hunting spots, just don't drive all the way to the glacier. Just before or just after the mouth of Jim Creek go into the woods and see what you find.
To scout for the spots go to the air photo place on Merrill field and check out their stuff. Kind of pricey but way better detail than google earth for that area.
