    Default Ketchikan Report

We're heading up to Ketchikan Saturday (8/9) for a week of fishing. Checking to see how it's been this week? We are mainly self guiding for salmon and halibut but plan to do some freshwater flyfishing.

Thanks in advance for any reports.

Coho and pinks are around, but not in great numbers. I had friends (6) just leave after 5 days of fishing and they ended up with something like 20 coho and an equal amount of pinks. They only picked up 4-5 chichen size halibut.

I haven't fished the streams for a few weeks but should start seeing some pinks and coho with the dollies and rainbow chasing eggs.

I'm hoping it's the drier, warmer weather you've had this week that's slowing it down and the rains will return and start things up. At least that's what I'm trying to convince myself.

Either way, it's going to be a great trip.

The report says rains are on the way and I'm sure you'll enjoy our beautiful country.
