    Default Halibut numbers

Going to Homer tomorrow with some buddies from California....I have tried to get them on fish with no luck....want to take them to Homer tomorrow. But I need to know EXACTLY where to take them....morale is low as no fish have been caught in a week. I don't want to clean out anyone's fishing hole but I need to know where to go.....

Check out compass rose. There will be fish there or off the bluff.

On the compass rose you will see boat there fishing. It's a popular spot

If you can go out of Anchor point, all you have to do is run out about 6 mile and start fishing an hour before slack until the tide starts to turn. I've never had to fish that long before I got my limit and more (throw backs). Also, deep creek is good too. I go about 7 miles down the beach towards homer and out about 6 or 8 miles. Great fishing and it's a real cheap trip. I just run out to where the water starts too look cleaner and start fishing. No exact holes, just a guess and drop lines. Never been skunked yet. Knock on wood.....

Run out just beyond Flat Island and look for the boats. Plently of decent sized chickens out there.
