    Default Fish Alaska Busted!

    Page 47 of the new Fish Alaska, top photo calls it a silver salmon. I disagree, it's a chum salmon. Note the thin tail base, no spots on back or tail, and the silver on the tail itself is more striated than typical on a silver. Shape and coloration also look more like a chum salmon to me.

    I don't have the mag in front of me, but I do believe the Chum has a fat/stubby tail base...and no spots on the tail.

    It happens often. Some of the posters here have done the same thing. Fairly easy to mistake them for silvers to the newbie's, when they are fresh. I wouldn't think it was intentional.

    Yeah no harm done, I was a little suprised though
