    Thumbs up cabin power

Im starting my cabin up taku next summer. Ive staring prefabbing already in 4'x8'sections. Also ill be putting in a dock eventually someting like 8'x20'. I was wondering if anyone has tried a paddle wheel of some sort hooked to a generator mounted to thier dock to make power. Im probably going to wire the cabin in 12 volt.

Looking around on the net a year or so back on cabin electrical ideas, I saw where a guy made a small stream based hydro unit out of a old Chevy alternator to trickle charge his batteries. The squirrel cage he used in the stream was connected with a fan belt to the alternator.
