    Default Whittier Silvers in yet?

Picked up a few over on Knight a few weekends ago. Wondering if theyve hit Pigot yet? Any reports?

They're not red hot yet, but we picked up limits today within 25 Nm of Whittier. #s should be increasing and they should be getting closer over the next couple of weeks.

Is there a "Pony Cove" for out of Whittier. A couple of years ago I always seemed to have real good luck at the south end of Culross but lately it seems like I have been a hard time finding the Silvers. Maybe it was timing, maybe just luck. I have spent a lot more time out of Seward and the fish seem to be easier to find there but with the forecast for Monday I would rather go out of Whittier (especially since I think I found a halibut spot there finally)!

I'm not sure of the numbers, but there are vastly more fish returning to Seward than Whittier. There are some returning to Whittier and Ester Hatchery, a bunch going to Valdez, and a few natural runs in the Sound. Every day is a little different too-- because of commercial pressure from the gillnet fleet. There are some "mini" Pony Coves, but they change. It takes a while to figure out when and where. Trolling the points is always a good start.

So when do the silvers hit Resurrection Bay in solid numbers? I thought it would be by the 1st week of August. I think it was the 2nd week of August when we started hitting them out at Pigot last year with good success.

I did really well at southern end of Culross and Deception Bay.

    Still a little early...........
