Default 270 Win and 140 grain Barnes TSX

Planning to load some 140 grn Barnes TSX bullets in my 270 Win. I have a bunch of IMR 4350 and IMR 4831 powder. Anyone have a good load for this bullet with one of these powders? Rifle has a 24" barrel.
    Thanks

I haven't loaded the TSX in 270, but almost universally my 270's over the years have prefered one version or the other of 4831 to 4350 for both top velocity and accuracy. It will be interesting to see if yours is the same with that bullet.

Keep us posted! I'm about to set off on the adventure of trying new powders and bullets in a whole bunch of calibers...... That is if I can ever get my benchtop cleared enough to reload again!

The Barnes site recommends 49.5 gr of IMR 4350 as a starting load and 53 gr max for their 150 gr bullets. You should be fine starting with 49.5 since the 150 is heavier and requires less powder. Your max will probably be in the 53-54 gr area but definitely start low. Call Barnes and talk to their tech rep. They are glad to help and have data on on a lot of powders not listed.

63 grains of H-1000 is a very very consistent load in my 270 Win

IMR 4350 is all I shoot in my Win 270.
