Having just done the Alagnak in early July which had above normal water levels, I would float this river in August, very early September for Rainbows. A great river to float, but it was flooded out when I was there.

    Default The Wulik

The Wulik in mid Aug through freeze up. The best Char fishing in Alaska and the largest fish. Its is remote but worth the work if you want really big Char and a great wilderness experience.

    Default Sheefish

If its Sheefish your looking for check out the Paw in the upper Kobuk or possibly the Tag in the Selawik NW Refuge. Add a moose tag and it will not be a disappointment. 50 pound fish and red meat.
