Default New Member needs Advise on Salmon Fishing South of Ketchikan Aug 17-27

I am coming up to fish Salmon and Halibut with a buddy out of Ketchikan from August 17-27 this year -any advise or idea on how the fishing might be will be appreciated. My buddy has a 62 foot yacht and is towing a 17 foot Boston whaler to fish out of and intents to fish Sout and West of Ketchikan.

If you mean Cape Chacon area the silvers still should be running strong, king run is pretty much over, the pinks (humpies) still will be in great number.

Halibut, lings and other bottom fish should be great.

Don't know if this is what you were after or not.

We are seeing some 8-10 lbsers now, so by end of August they'll be at their max weight anywhere between 12-20, if the run continues.
