    Default Best Table Fare

Kings, Reds, or Silvers, what is everyone's favorite? Please disregard every factor except what you would rather have on your plate, cooked to your specification.

Give me a 1.25" to 1.50" thick belly slab, and I'm a VERY happy man!

I don't think they make those on silvers or reds.

    Reds
    Kings
    Silvers for me anyways.

But you did open the can of worms now because guys are going to start answering with:

    Copper reds
    Copper kings
    kasilof silver
    ocean king
    kenia red
    southeast silver
red caught during a leap year on a full moon with a single hook polka dot pollywog

    Default I know it

RMiller, you are right. Local conditions surely influence a person's preference for fish. I cast my vote for reds based on my experience with Copper River reds: I have never had a salmon I enjoyed more. I hope people will vote for their favorite species, and explain it in a post if necessary.

    Default Grilled Reds...

Here's a quick recipe for some good eatin' fish...

    1tbs Worcestershire
    3tbs Soy
1/2 stick of butter (use real butter)

Heat this up on your grill in a small pot and baste some red fillets. Cook the fillets for a couple minutes on each side and enjoy! Best salmon I've ever eaten....

Perch over Walleye any day! I love most fish and its great that we can have some variety. Halibut is supreme as is Red, King and Silver salmon. Perch is outstanding as is walleye. If i had to choose in order it would be

King Salmon and Red Salmon to close to call
    Silver Salmon
    Halibut
    Perch
    Walleye

With Salmon you can take King for example and Sautee it , Smoke it, grill it, bake it, broil it and all at outstanding! Its almost like you are eating different fish.

    White King
    Reds
    Kings
    Silvers

Thumbs up Marbled & Spring Kings

Chrome, ocean fresh Kings are the best eating. Reds come in 2nd only because they can easily be over cooked. Silvers 3rd, ocean fresh chums 4th, and then Pinks.

Dall sheep backstrap. I can't help but salivate everytime I'm putting in at Sportsman's and see all those little white dots running around on Round Mountain.

    King
    red
    silver
    chum
    pink

Assuming they come from the same river system.
I just like the richer flavor that kings have.
