    Default Detailed Swaro Info

I just got an e-mail from the Swaro tech guy and thought I would post this info:
The AV 3-10x42 ML (Muzzle Loading) reticle rifle scopes are starting to roll off the production lines. As you know the reticle is designed to take advantage of the newer, long range spire point muzzle loading bullets that can effectively take game out to between 200 and 300 yards utilizing modern in-line muzzleloaders. As a reminder there are 15 decals included; 5 popular .50 caliber bullets for 150 gr loads, the same 5 bullets with 100 gr loads, 5 blank decals to take data from many other loads in the instruction manual or for customization. The loading data in the manual is based upon 100gr or 150 gr powder charges. There will also be a coupon in the box (good until the end of the year) that the consumer can redeem for 2 boxes of Hornady 50 cal. 250 gr SST saboted bullets.

An additional use has been discovered for the ML reticle that many of you may find lucrative & beneficial. For many popular Whitetail / Mule Deer centerfire rifle calibers, sighted in at 100 yards, the dots/bars under the main crosshair work out to be pretty much dead on at 200, 300, 400, 500 yards.
In technical terms, cartridges with muzzle velocities between 2800 fps and 3000 fps, with ballistic coefficients between .380 and .475 seem to work out very well. The 150 gr 30-06 loads are extremely close to being dead on!

In layman's terms, here are a few examples of a factory cartridges, when sighted in at 100 yards, work out to be virtually dead on at 100, 200, 300, 400 & 500 yards. Remember that this is with the AV 3-10x42 ML at 10X. For closer shots, out to 150 yards, use the scope at any magnification when using only the main central crosshair.

Do you have any info on the new binos that Swarvoski has coming out in August? It's rumored that they are the EL with FL glass and are going to be pricey.

Swarovski is not talking. All I know is that the product is being shown here @ SHOT SHOW 2009 and I will do my best to find out details before that.

I was hoping they would come out before September. I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on either a Swarvoski EL 10 x 42 or Leica Ultravid 10 x 42 HD. No one around me is keeping the larger Leica HD in stock to compare them.
