    Default Here They Come!

    Attention Kenai dippers and flippers!

The first wall of Kenai reds has moved to the beach and on up the river.

Nets took nearly 210K off the beaches in yesterdays 16 hour opener!

So much for the theory that the fish are late.... THEY'RE HERE!

Get down there and git 'er dun... while you still have a chance.

Sweet. I'll be dipping tomorrow. i was kind of disappointed because I figured it was too early, but it's the only time that my friend and I can connect. Although a lot can change in a day, it gives me some hope!

I just talked with some friends that live below the Soldotna bridage and they slayed the reds this morning and said that people started catching them last night. Seems like there is actually a run of salmon this year that might be on time. Time will tell.
Spending my kids' inheritance with them, one adventure at a time.

Probably from the north shore. I would love to go via boat, but only have access to a 2-stroke.

Default The internet and the cell phone has made the world a VERY small place

Good info is GOOD info... whether it comes out of Soldotna or Aberdeen, WA.

I have a reputation to uphold... why would I purposely post crap?

I think Fishwacker was just trying to find out if anyone actually have caught any yet in Soldotna. Don't think it was intended to mean that since you are in Wa you don't know what you are talking about. We have all seen and read your posts and they have been a wealth of information. Give the kid a break

No offense FNP, but who would YOU trust?.....someone who merely reposts stuff from the internet (2nd hand info), or someone who actually lives on the river and fishes it daily?

The Comm Fish website has been updated multiple times today as totals from yesterday's obscenely good fishing continue to roll in. The local processors must either be up to their ears in reds or perhaps beyond capacity by now.

As I post this the beach totals were

    Kenai Section: 134K
    Kasilof Section: 123K

Inlet wide drifters south of Kalgin: 205K

That's a total of nearly half a million sockeye in one day!

Yeeeeee haw!! I had a feeling they'd be heavy this year. Still we'll see. I told folks not to freak out early thinking there were no fish, and I should think there is fish based on one day.

Thanks Doc for the info, I wouldn't have looked today.
