Default Lost Lake and Kenai Peninsula

I need help! This weekend is my wife's birthday and my last weekend off work for a while. We were planning on camping in the Lost Lake area but I have heard it is covered in snow! Can anybody verify this for me? If it is, we would still like to get out of the Anchorage area and camp out somewhere on the Kenai Peninsula, as long as it is a nice hike in and up in the mountains, of course. Dont't want to many people around. I have a lot of experiance in Hatcher Pass and the Chugach around Anchorage, but not so much down on the peninsula. Any help at all would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I can't tell you about Lost Lake, but both Summit Pass and Devil's Pass are nice hikes up into the mountains. There will likely be patches of snow here and there around both trails, but it should be mostly snow free.

Did you end up heading down to Lost Lake? I love that trail - awesome cabin to rent from the state park service as well... There are 2 different routes up (winter/summer) route. Last year end of May/Early June it was still very snow covered (knee depth and I am 6'2). I can imagine this year being not as warm as last snow still being above the tree line. Please verify for me as I would love to mountain bike up there again. Thanks!
