    Default Anchor Point Tractor Launch

Does anyone know if the Anchor Point tractor boat launch service is still operating? And a contact number if possible.
    Thanks! The Hog

It was operating last weekend when I was down there. $55 round trip. Sorry, I don't know the number.

How has the "surf" been while launching this week? Have there been some bad weather days where they didn't launch? I was going to look back at those days and see if I could correlate the weather for those days with the forcast for the coming weekend to help decide if I should burn the gas to try to get out.

yesterday was the only day i have heard that they closed the launch down. (Wed) if you can figure out a weather pattern to the beach correlation, i will hapily send it to NOAA!

    Default Anchor Point Launch Number

The number I finally got through with yesterday for the Anchor Point Tractor Launch is 235-6500. 7 days a week, 4am to 10pm, $55.

    (907) 567-3526 is the Deep Creek Launch operatied by Marine Services.

Marine Services used to run both launch areas but they dropped Anchor Point and a new outfit is operating the Anchor Point area.

    Hello PWS...........

Too bad you cant go 1-2 miles offshore outta whittier and catch butts ; besides once youve factored in the tunnel /launch fees thats already about what 30 bucks for whitter?

    Default It was worth it!

I compared the $55 plus $5 to the cost of launch and truck/trailer parking at Homer, $12 plus $10, plus the fuel to run all the way up to our fishing area north of Whiskey Gulch and back to Homer. It had to be cheaper or at worst a wash launching at Anchor Point.

We were staying in Homer, so 15 minutes from there, no waiting line and an almost immediate launch. 20 - 30 minutes in the boat and we were fishing. Limited out both days and filled the freezer.

So, I am pleased all around with the Anchor Point launch and results.

I started going to PWS when I finally had enough of Anchor Point and have a much better time, although Butts can be a challange.
