    Default Fishing the Alcan...

    Needs some advice....

I'm driving the Alcan next month. I've got Alaska figured out as far as fishing goes. Can anybody recommend some locations in Canada not far off the Alcan?

    Thanks!

The streams around the Yukon, BC border are awesome for grayling. Bring a light fly rod and lots of small dry flies and have a blast.

Try for pike in some areas. I remember several years ago when my father and I were up for work i had about 4 grayling taken off my hook by pike along the alcan. I imagine there would be pike in about every deep pool or run in the stream up there. Well at least along the yukon tributaries and sloghs.

Great info! I'm driving the Alcan in October and am hoping to do some kind of fishing on the way.
