    Default Castnet for bait

I could not find anything in the reg's regarding the use of a castnet for bait, I found out a 15 hook or less sibiki would be ok. So, anyone know if a castnet is legal?

Default Before you get an answer

you need to define what area of the state you want to use one. It is legal in some areas in the SE.

    Vietnam - June 70 - Feb. 72
Cancer from Agent Orange - Aug. 25th 2012
    Cancer Survivor - Dec. 14th 2012

    Default Thanks Dave

We will be in the Petersburg area. In Duncan Canal at the breiland slough cabin and at the mouth of Portage Bay at the West Point Cabin to be specific. I noticed that these areas may be in different reg. sections. Thanks, Jim

For anyone looking for this info in the future, I spoke with the Petersburg area field biologist today. A cast net would NOT be legal to use for baitfish. Baitfish may be taken w/ previously mentioned sabiki(sp?).

After living in Fl for a few years I couldn't help but think that making te use of Cast nets legal for "dipnetting" reds would be SWEET!
