Default Should I consider buying an Almar Lite?

I am trying to find a small and efficient, yet tough, aluminum boat for fishing the inside waters of southeast and am thinking about matching a used 17' Almar lite rag top with a 90 to 115 hp four-stroke. I was wondering how this boat handles in rough water... and how stable it is for trolling. It looks like its got a pretty shallow V but it also looks pretty stout. Any info or opinions would be appreciated.

I owned a 17 footer and it was built like a tank, except the windshield was kinda cheap.
Good boat but it rode rough. It will beat you to death in the chop.

I have an 18` Almar Lite. I don't know about open water, but here on the interior rivers (and lakes) I run, it is an awesome boat. It is a tank, built very well. It has a semi-v, and runs much more shallow than people think. On step, I've been through inches of water with the thing. I run it about 4 times a week. Mine has a 2.3 liter ford (about 130 hp) and a single stage jet. Great boat.
