    Default McCarthy lakes/Tangle Lakes

My wife and I are planning a last minute trip going to McCarthy or Tangle Lakes. Anyone have and fishing/camping info, especially info on lakes near McCarthy? We will have 2 sea kayaks to fish from.

    Thumbs up Tangle Lakes.

If your talking tangle lakes on the denali highway I cannot suggest it highly enough. Both the upper and lower have great grayling fishing (please pinch your barbs though to take care of those pretty babies) I have caught lakers in the the lower on spinners when fishing for grayling. There are plenty of grayling in the tangle river and it is very accessable from all over. Camp sites, bathrooms and there is a host. Plenty of streams and lakes within 30 miles of there to explore too. Tangle is at mile 20 if you go to mile 42 stop at the mcclaren river lodge. Suzy and allan are great people, good food and drinks and cheap showers. We love it up there
