    Default Gabbys first King

My oldest daughter 5 years old caught her first King Thursday. Weight was 24 3/4 pounds. She hooked one fought it for 3-4 minutes then had another big bite then got the third one to the boat. The first was a smaller fish that was good practice for this fish. I was able to anchor up the boat in the slow side of the river before I even had to go to the back of the boat to help.

Mighty fine fish for your little sweetheart!

The first king is a BIG milestone.

When she is willing to hug one just as readily as she would that brown teddy bear, you know you've got a fishergirl hooked for life!

Well done Gabby, my wife even let out a little shriek when she saw that Gabby had caught one. Gabby excitedly met us and asked if we were the "fishing friends" when we arrived for our trip with you all so it was fun to see that she had gotten into one. I am sure that "Dad" and his great fishing persona had a little bit to do with it but let's not steal that moment, GREAT JOB GABBY!

i'm just glad that i am still one ahead of her, though that second one looks mighty close to my biggest one.
