    Default Freezing Char?

    My Neighbor said he heard that Char dont freeze well. Any truth to that? Ive never quite understood how something doesnt freeze well? My dad says Rockfish dont freeze well also.

    Matt I agree with the char, but rockfish are fine frozen. If you really want to freeze rockfish a long time, place them in a container and fill with water.
    My opinion is that char have too much fat which turns them rancid, (fat doesn't freeze.) I'd take a rockfish any day over a char.

    Char, Trout, Dollies are just like Grayling to me, If your going to catch them better eat them within a couple hours, otherwise let em' go they don't freeze well. I have frozen rock fish (black bass, snapper, ling cod) and they do pretty well, but, there is nothing like fresh fish.
