Default sanctuary when will it open?

I heard that it might open this week, not positive.

Not for a while.... counts are way low. At the earliest, 1.5 weeks!

    Default Could come sooner

Depends on the estimated number of fish kegged up at the confluence.

The weir passage is finally over a thousand a day now. Look for things to ramp up significantly in the coming days.... unless of course this run turns out to be milk toast like virtually everything else in the state.

The sanctuary opens when ADFG can project 16K will escape the fishery. If that doesn't happen in the next week, it ain't gonna happen.

If they have to wait a week and a half to make that call, the staging fish will be long gone, making the EO pointless.

Correction.... the lower end of goal is 14K... that's what it takes to open the sanctuary. Exceeding the upper end of 37K triggers an increase in the bag to 6 fish.

As of yesterdays count, over 10000 fish have passed the weir. There are still thousands of reds in the sanctuary. 14K is in the bag! The EO to open the sanctuary should come down any day.

But I sure wouldn't hold my breath for 6 fish anytime soon.

Good. Once they open the Santuary all the hordes go down there, leaving the upper stretches of the river serene and peaceful.
