    Default Shallow Water Halibut?

Fished the Petersburg area last summer for halibut. The group had good sucess fishing around the crab pots at Beechers and close in to Level Island. Fish were taken as shallowas 20ft. and the majority in40 to 60 ft.depth. We used spreader bars with fresh dead Herring with crab flavored gulp. Fishing the tides was a plus.
This year I will bring some bottom fishing jigs from Kodiak Custom Tackle and bottled baby octupus.
Any thoughts or suggestions for fishing the area would be appreciated.
Wil be fishing out of Green Rocks Lodge with Tim Harper during the first week of August.
