    Question Deep Creek Charters

Anyone out there have a recommendation for a 'but charter out of Deep Creek/Ninilchik? Have gone out of Homer a few times but I've heard that the tractor launch operations are the way to go.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

    Default CAPT Steve's Fishing Lodge

If you want to fish hard all day and catch some quality fish CAPT Steve's is a great choice. I fish with them this year and had a great time and caught some good fish.

    Thumbs up J&J Smart Charters

I just went with them Friday. Boat limited out on 20-30 pound halibut...no big fish, but alot of action, and alot of fun.

If you want to catch chickens.....shop around for the cheapest.
If you are targeting large 100 lb + halibut I'll recommend Bottom Line charters...I've gone out with Jim and Ernie every year for the last 9 yrs.
I remember the first time I went with them...the smallest fish on the boat was 80 and the largest was 217.

Captain Tim will work hard to get you your fish. Never had a bad charter with him.

I have to second J&J. We went out Sunday and limited out. All six of us landed 8-10 before we called it quits due to our arms being sore. Largest fish were a couple around 45-50 lbs. The rest were about 20lbs or so. No giants, but plenty of fish and close in. The crew were great and the equipment perfect. Tell "NOTSO" (Owner John) that "Buick" sent you. It won't save you any money or get me anything but it'll be a conversation starter.

Jim and Ernie actually were the guides featured on an Alaskan fishing DVD.... and just from watching it they seem to put you on good fish and be very friendly and guest serving.... Just from watching the video I'd recommend them; let me see if i can find the title

I just can't see paying $200+ to have someone take you to a chicken hole and maybe catch a couple of 20 pounders.

I like to put a little meat in freezer if I'm shelling out that kind of money

It's all about weather. Weather determines just about everything up here.
