    Default Highly recommend

going to Alexander. Caught 3 there over the weekend and it was Alaska prestine at its finest. I was solo - nobody else fishing - can you believe that? Amazing. The king fishing on Alexander is HOT.

I'm hoping that was a joke because Alexander Cr. is closed to king salmon fishing.

You are joking I hope. Alexander creek is CLOSED to king fishing. You CAN fish for pike. You can NOT use bait. Even for pike. I called Dave @ F&G and asked about bait for pike. He said no.

I have not been to Flathorn but I hear its good. I belive I found the correct slough entrance for Flathorn but I have not ran up it yet. It was really low when I was there in May. Lots of fresh black bear tracks at the slough. I saw a trooper at deshka that day. He said he talked to a guy who made it to the lake but he had to drag the boat a few times. Maybe the water is high enough now? Can anyone give me GPS cords for the slough entrance for Flathorn??? Or a Google Earth place mark?? Pretty please? I just want to make sure I am looking at the right slough to get in there. Thanks!

    For Pike:
    Sloughs of upper Deshka.
Trapper Creek a little ways up the Deshka
Fish Creek, bottom end of Kroto Slough
Whitsoe Slough halfway through Kroto Slough
Several side sloughs around the middle of Kroto Slough
    Moose Creek off of Yentna
    Indian Creek off of Yentna
Kutna Creek off of 20 Mile Slough
    Fish Lakes Creek (all lakes)
    Donkey Creek
    Hewitt Creek and Lake
    Whiskey Lake and Creek
    Flathorn
    Alexander
Any and every fresh water tributary with a slough or lake has Pike in it.

    Rainbows and Grayling:
    Upper reaches of Deshka
    Lake Creek
    Fish Lakes Creek
    Willow Creek

Many more, but this is a sampling of something other than Kings, on the Yentna/Susitna Drainage. No good reason not to find some new territory. Good Luck

    Default Are you really

that slow that you cannot see the exaggeration in the I words typed? Really?

Do you think that the original poster now knows that you cannot catch a king on Alexander now? Really?

    I am so amazed! Really!

Forgot to mention in the earlier response another option to consider doing; That there remains thousands of bears that Fish and Game want removed from the eco-system. The Predator Control System for the Susitna/Yentna is in full swing now. Go out and shoot a few.
