1.01Background Information

The Division of Sport Fish published its first strategic plan in 2003 and is initiating a revision. Subsequent to the completion of this plan, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) established a planning structure that it called Missions and Measures. The Division of Sport Fish adopted this planning structure and has end and intermediate outcomes it uses to assess whether it is meeting its mission and strategic plan goals. These performance measures are also used in the OMB and legislative forums to assess budgetary needs. The Division is in the process of completing its review and revision of it strategies, targets and measures related to intermediate outcomes. The end outcomes related to numbers of users, satisfaction and economics have been more generally accepted, but will be subject to change during this strategic planning process.



5.01 Planning Process

In order to meet the proposed Strategic Planning Process Timeline, a Division Leadership Team (DLT) Meeting will be held August 5-6, 2008 in Fairbanks to present final targets/measures/data. August 7, 2008 the performance measures will be compared to targets and the DLT plus other key divisional leadership positions will confirm the Divisionís Vision, Values, Mission and Customers.
