Default "C" and "D" ss impellers

My boat came with a spare ss impeller i believe its a Wooldridge, the only marking was a "C".
Wooldridge ID'd and gave me some info. So, i assumed my other impeller on the engine was a "C" as well, but it has a "D" on it. Can anyone explain to me the difference between the two??

The letter refers to the cut or pitch of the impeller. One of your impellers is the wrong cut. Your owners manual should have a chart that tells you which impeller you should run according to engine redline and Hp.

    Default impeller

Your spare impeller may not necessarily be the wrong pitch. Wouldnt hurt to try it out sometime.

According to Outboard Jet, the "C" has less pitch, and will pull higher RPMS on my 115, and won't give me the thrust the D will. Apparently, the C is matched for the 90 HP outboards.
Your right though, i am going to see how it works.

If the C will fit my 01 merc 90 horse I'd be interested in it.
