I went out on Sunday and just scoped out the pond - Nothing appeared to be in there yet - DIPAC still has their fry pens in there so I'm guessing 2 weeks at least...I believe people have started to catch some at the mouth on high tides though.

The mouth was actually what I was thinking about and I should have been more specific.
I come through Juneau once a year right at this time.
Last year was the first time I went out there.
A guy at the fly shop down town told me about it and sold me a couple flies, and a bug net.
Man, that head net was the most important piece of equipment I had.
    Thanks

no joy at the mouth on Tuesday. I think it may have been a little too bright out for them. It was a beautiful day though.

I've almost got my work done and I might be able to hit the afternoon hight tomorrow.
    Friday for sure.
I'd think if it's still raining the bugs would be down anyway. Or are they ever grounded?
Anyone fish that late night high?

No bugs on Tuesday. The wind was up though. The late tide blows for bugs. Take a net....

Hike out the mud flats and fish the LOW tide... (please be careful not to cast and hit my boat!)

Folks were walking the beach to check their crab pots this morning, and we got my deckhand a nice fat hatchery king inside of 15 minutes from the boat. Several folks fishing from the beach (catching too!) and one boat anchored in the mouth throwing flies.

yes, it's buggy... even on the boat. We had our Skintastic out and did fine. What a great day to be on the water!
