Black Rockfish, Duskies and Quillback Rockfish can be had on just about any rock-pile around town. I've had better luck West of Admiralty Island - either while fishing salmon at Lizard Head, Cordwood Creek, etc. or over on the Icy Strait side of Lynn/Chatham... Couverden, Hanus Reef, Sisters, etc are all good butt and rock-fish locations. I pulled a few nice yelloweye out of Couverden last summer, haven't spent much time over that way so far this year. The really BIG yelloweye are out on the coast. Several good holes out of both Sitka and Pelican.

Diamond Jigs or Vike-Jigs work great, as does pink or chum salmon on a circle hook for the really bigguns.

    Hope this helps!
