    Default Not good news

Two of the guys in my shop got back last night. They spent the last two days on the Deshka and got one 20# King out of the six guys on the boat. They picked him up on a #5 Mepps (Black with orange dots) run real slow near the bottom. I hope that helps.

It seems to be slow for the Kings everywhere. Deshka and Lil Su are not producing fish like they should be at this time of year. The run should of been in almost full swing by now.

    Default Deshka update

I don't understand I guess. I was out on the Su since Monday 6/9, pulled into the Deshka at about noon, threw out my spinner (#4 vibrex) had a 30lb hen on in less than 10 minutes and was on my way. Did it again on Tuesday with the #5 tea spoon. Each time I was in the Deshka I saw fish being caught. Don't get me wrong, I can say it's "HOT" but I don't think it is what the paper is saying today, i.e. "Deshka River Kings go missing."

Go past the mouth and away from the boats tied to one another (unless there is a massive Party going on that I wasn't invited too) fish pass the mess. There is a lot of river there and last I checked the kings use the whole river...

    Good luck.

    Default Slow for me

Fished yesterday (6/11) and saw a total of 4 fish caught. We went straight upstream and had a little difficulty finding a hole to fish that wasn't already taken. I was in direct contact with 2 other boats all day long. 0 fish for 10 anglers in this group. Count at the weir was 221.
