    Default Fishin Snacks

Whats the best fishin snack out there??

I only bring this up because I took a kid from work out with me the other day for some king trolling and among other things he brought Almond Roca and Pixee Sticks. I thought this a little strange.

    Default Match the hatch...

    ... so to speak.
Real anise licorice, dried herring, garlic tasting pretzel mix.

Just kidding! Avoid snacks with peanut and other oils on them unless the oil is fish oil or WD40.

    Default Nothing.

I like to fish hungry. I feel it concentrates the mind wonderfully. Keeps you in that predator mindset. Also, you keep fishing, not pooting around with snacks, sandwiches, drinks, etc.

Just make sure there is lots of it .

I took my seven year old son out and he ate everything in the lunchbox. I was lucky to hurry before he was done and I got half a sandwich.

Anything you can eat, that you dont mind adding herring oil to.

My hands are always stinky of bait when I fish. Always.

As if gloves were never meant for me.

So, yeah, something with A LOT of flavor to mask the herring or squid. Like Jerky!

    soaked sardines MMMM, good.

    But not while fishing.

An old hunting and fishing standby for me has always been Vienna Sausages and crackers - I call em snotguts.

Same for hunting! When I'm gone for a day or two, I take jerky of what ever I'm after. Salmon or moose or black bear or........ Just hoping this year, it will be bison.

the main snacks for a good fishing trip (well when I'm trolling) is donuts (for the morning) peanuts(in the shell so you can make boats out of them) tootsie roll pops, and chips.

    Default Costco

I usually have whatever snack or nut mix that costco had cause I'm guaranteed to have a large bag of it, and then beer. If it's morning or a little snotty outside I'll bring a thermos of coffee and maybe a little "creamer" to take the edge off.

I usually try to eat deer for dinner the night before the hunt then bring a deer sandwich in the pack. call it superstition but I gotta have a little deer in my system if I'm going to hunt deer.
