    Default Trim indicator

Here's a puzzling question; what kind of sending unit sends signals to the trim indicator on my Wooldridge? The indicator on the dash has wires to it, but where/what do they attach to??
    Thx

My Honda has a little arm, under the motor head, that is pushed by the motor when the motor tilts. It's spring loaded.

It looks like, to me, that it is showing the trim of the hull rather than whether the motor is up/down. When i lower the bow, it starts indicating that the hull is getting more level. Thats whats puzzling me, as i can't find the sending unit.

Trimming the motor down will cause the bow to go down, in effect 'leveling' the hull. Not much of a puzzle.
