Hope Side Resurrection Trail
Asked this question in the hiking catagory but perhaps someone has been in hunting for bear from Hope on Resurrection Trail. Looking at heading in to Fox and Caribou cabins but on the drive over the pass last weekend still lots of snow this year. Wondering if I can make it through with the kids, not affraid of walking through pushing the bikes along in some areas but affraid there might be miles of feet of snow.
Palmer Creek Road
The Palmer Creek Road is pummeled with snow, slides, avalanches, and just feet of white stuff.
With that, I would imagine the snow on the trail will be similar.
Talked with the USFS ranger... he mentioned the snow on the Palmer road will delay opening the gate for awhile - hopefully it gets and stays warm.
Good luck! You might find yourself heading back to your car.
As of yesterday the Palmer Creek road is gated closed.
Seen several folks backpacking and biking up the Resurrection trail however.
We they hiking and biking from the Hope side?
Seen several hikers and 3 sets of bikers. NO idea if its passable.
We camped a couple of days at Res Creek and did not see them return.
Considering there is still ice to be found in the tree roots along the river I would assume there is considerable snow further up.
I went down last weekend and hiked the trail all the way back to caribou creek and there wasn't ANY.. snow around. We saw only one black bear on the first trip out this year.
