Default No crabbing anytime soon in PWS

I stopped by F&G to check out the new crabbing regs that didn't make it into the printed regs before they were distributed. Found out that you can't crab in PWS (I didn't check on anyplace else) until October. By then my boat will be put to bed for the winter. Oh well.

Default would be fun to try

but i sure hope that no little crafts are going to try and make it out just for a few crab and get themselves in trouble. not much recreation going on out in pws after october. kinda a weird regulation if you ask me. anyone know the specifics as to why they are what they are?

If I can scrounge a pot or two together I may give it a go when I'm out deer hunting in November. I'm just a little leery of having to go really deep for the Goldens until I get a pot puller on board.

That is allot of rope to pull to find if you have something or not.

I guess I shouldn't have been surprised that the season doesn't start until winter since the season doesn't start in the Bering Sea until winter. Maybe no correlation.
