    Default Quick Question on Roe

Been using roe for the first time this weekend at Ship Crk. Since our line is in the water a lot (i.e. not catching anything), how often should I put on fresh roe?

Change it when it gets discolored and all the scent is gone, it lasts for a while.

If your eggs are nicely cured they should last about 10 - 15 casts in a small river. You can also try tying your eggs in small quarter size row bundles using nylon netting. Tie off the row sack with stretchy thread. You can make your egg balls before you get to the river. The eggs will fish much longer before milking out.
