That is wild! We have seen the same thing with kings here on the great lakes rivers, it is a sight to behold.
Looks like a tidal stream. Where the salmon swim up, the tide recedes and they are left dry. Some salmon in PWs still return to their spawning stream area even though the 64 quake has wiped out the stream. For some reason a little scent must still be getting thru and they spawn right in the ocean. I found once such spot last year where the black bears were actually jumping into the ocean fro pinks. It was really interesting and they were successful.

Might be the first time I ever agreed with the notion of "over-escapement" as a bad thing...
I looked like they were videoing from above a culvert. I wonder if that was put in since the spawn. If that areas used to have a large pond that all those salmon spawned in prior to the culvert being installed it would explain the phenomenon.
