    Default gas milageand range

Have been watching the site and reading everything Ican. Heres the question 2008 22' Searunner ht/xt with Yamaha 150, 85 gal. tank; ballpark on mileage and range. Running in and around Petersburg ( Frederick Sound, Sumner Strait) Gas will definately be an issue and will be looking for fishing partners I'm sure.

    Default OB Mileage

The old "rule of thumb" of 1 gph (max) per 10hp seems to be supported by the Yamaha Performance Bulletin figures below for the 150 2-stroke:

    RPM MPH GPH MPG Db
    1000 4.5 1.8 2.50 65
    2000 8 4. 1 1.95 75
    3000 18.9 6.7 2.82 80
    4000 31.4 8.8 3.57 83
    5000 41.3 14.6 2.83 90
    5300 44.7 18.6 2.40 93

    4-Strokes do better on mileage.

The figures above were collected on a 21ft V-hull center console.

    Hope this helps!

    Default 3 mpg

I have a 05 22SR HT/ET with 150 yamaha and I can usualy plan on getting 3mpg. Thats cruising at 4800-5000 rpm 30-32mph plus idle time while fishing or pulling pots.
If I'm running light I can get 3-1/2 mpg, and backing off the throttle a little.
I also have a floscan that I use to watch my paycheck get smaller as I start pushing the
throttle forward. I carry an extra 15 gal. and don't have any problems going 250 miles
on a weekend and still have a little back up gas.
