    Default Minto Flats

Has anyone hunted the Minto Flats? I'm wondering if a 4whlr, or small
jet boat would be better for getting around.
    Thanks, Riverlover

    Default minto flats

The special use area is non motorized. The flats are not jet friendly, weeds, and the upper tributaries are not prop friendly, rocks. Poor management planning over the last few years has resulted in lower numbers of actual moose in the area over the last few years. Apparently, in the minds of adfg, or possible just the board, there are still "projected" moose there, as they keep the area open to general hunting.

Default 1992 Management plan, policies etc

In 1992 the State created a plan to protect the habitat there. You need to apply for a general or restricted use permit to use tired or tracked rigs within the management area.
