    Default Merc Parts

I am sure that this has been covered 1000 times for each manufacturer. I went to west marine and they are pretty useless from what I could tell... I did manage to get a Seloc repair manual for my outboard and I am planning on rebuilding the water pump, checking out the impeller and replacing the thermostat. I want to make sure I get all the parts to finish the work at one time. Where do I go to get all the parts locally? I am in the valley but Anchorage is fine. I have a 2000 90 horse merc ELPTO Jet. Thanks!

    Default Maintenance?

Do any of the above mentioned dealers service outboards? I'm looking for a tune up for my kicker.

I'm pretty sure any of these shops with a service dept can service your kicker. The folks at Burkeshore seemed pretty decent, and closer than driving in to Anchorage.

    LuJon,
Are you having problems with the engine, or just preventive maintenance?

Mostly PM but I am not getting water out of the discharge ports but from what I can tell it has a 143* thermostat and I don't know that I have gotten it up to temp. I don't want to start taking the boat up rivers without having some knowledge of the baseline of the common wear parts. Besides I would rather start tearing into it in my climate controled garage with my tools readily available than by necesity on a river bank! I would like to replace the reeds and go through the carbs but I would prefer to do the carbs with someone that has worked a multiple carb setup and knows how th sync them properly. Depending on the cost of the reeds I may go ahead and tackle them pretty soon. FYI I come from a medical maintenance background so not knowing the history of anything I rely on drives me NUTZ!

Where can I get a stainless impeller, and does anyone have any idea how much they cost?
