    Default Makarov

Well I finally got my grips from marschalgrips from Budapest, Hungary .
They are made out of Zebra wood .
They fit like a glove and look pretty good .
Have all sorts of bullets coming to do some load testing from jacketed to cast .
This is a fay cry from testing my Hand cannons to this small 9mm .
The bullets that are shown witht the pistol came with it .
They are steel core ,not sure about that .
I am going to unload one and then cut it in half to see for myself

That's a good looking little pistol. Perfect to drop in the pocket for a quick run to the store.

Well I did the test today .
I used a ammo hammer to get the lead tip out and catch the powder.
The bullet weighed 95 Grains and had 3.8 grains of powder , green powder to boot ??
Here are two pictures of the bullet.
I cut it in half and pulled the lead out and there was a steel cap on top of the lead .
I had a business card magnet and the jacket stuck right to it .
    What do you think .

I think you should buy a trunkload of the cheap Chinese ammo and break your shooter in and to have around for fun. Then buy some Cor-Bon or Gold-Dot ammo for carry.

I would like to get a couple thousand rounds although I did order some Hornady 95 Grain XTP Jacketed Hollow Point's that came in yesterday.
    Now to start reloading ...

Nice grip. My dad has had one as long as I can remember. We've used it for a lot of things. Even keep it on the boat for dispatching large halibut. Hopefully I can talk him out of it some day.

As I understand it (and definitely correct me if I'm wrong) this pistol has the same design as the FN 1910 with the operating spring surrounding the barrel. So I guess the Makarov and PPK are "modern" versions of this design? Am I right in assuming this is a sub-standard design as this type of design isn't common today?

If that is correct then it is much like my CZ-70.
