Default questions about oars for 14ft jon

Looking at picking up some oars for my 14 ft jon boat, so I can do some drifting on the little su, what size do I need, looked at a few places but it seems the blades on them are kinda small. We is the best place to get some. Thanks

You may be expecting oars to have blades the size of paddles...oars are quite a bit narrower; I don't think you'd want to row all day if the oars had paddle blades.

I know 8" are way too short for my 18 footer.

Maybe someone in the know could give recommendations for boats from 12 to 18 feet.

    Default how wide?

to determine the length of your oars, you need the width of your boat.
or where your oar locks will be positioned.
here is a basic formula I think works.
    Oars
    Frame Width
    Recommended Minimum Length
    48"
    7'
    54"
    7.5'
    60"
    8 '- 9'
    66"
    9' - 10'
    72"
    10'

    Thanks Alaskacanoe,

Looks like I need another foot.

I think I will make my oars adjustable so I can try a couple lengths.
