Default Halibut in the far southeast

We are planning on coming back up to Alaska in 2009 and fishing somewhere around POW Island. We have done the self guided trips before in the Icy Straight area and done well, just looking at some new area.
I have been looking at Ketchikan, Thorne Bay and Coffman Cove areas. Do you think the Halibut fishing would be any differant in any of these areas or is it more of a matter of finding them and some luck. I realize it may be better on the west side of the Island out of Craig, but havent found what I was looking for over there.

No offense to the others, but the Ketchikan area rocks for halibut. More towards Prince of Wales island, but you can also have luck fishing north of town.
