    Default 50/70

I have been offered a 50/70 caliber Rifle built on a Swedish Rolling block action,it has a douglas octagonal barrel and tang sight. It comes with 60 cases, dies and a bullet mold. The barrel finnish is brown and the action case hardened.

The caliber is unfamiliar to me are case's hard to find? The guy is asking $800,I think thats fair considering the cost of rebarreling and refinnishing.

    Your thoughts please.

    Default 50/70

If it's a 50/70 Govt (most likely), Starline has brass for about 1.00 apiece.
Bullets are available from cast performance bullets weighing 350, 435, and 525 grains all with gas checks. I've gotten them at 3 different shops here in town although it sometimes takes a week.
Make sure you order the .511 diameter (500 linebaugh) not the .500 (500 s&w).

I'm not familiar with that action.

    Hope this helps.

    Two questions:

    1. What are you waiting for?

    2. Why re-barrel?
