Thread: Deshka Landing

    Default Deshka Landing

Is the Deshka landing launchable right now? I'm looking to see if anyone has put their boat into the Su as of yet. I'm thinking about running around 16 on Saturday. Water depth doesn't matter as long as I have about 2' of water to launch the boat. I'll probably call the launch on Thursday either way.

The river still has ice coming down so give it a couple of days. The "don't think about it part" is leaving your boat in the lot because of wet conditions. Give them a call for 1st hand updated info. I usually get out anytime after this weekend. Just need to use the low water launch.

Also a reminder to all......There is the owner/members meeting Saturday.

    Default Still frozen

My boss just flew over the Su/Yentna drainage and said it is still frozen in. Maybe a nother week or so of this warm weather and we can head that way.

Ran the Big Su and Talkeetna today. Time on the Big Su was spent dodging ice bergs and ice covered rocks but that didn't deter to much. Overall great day with lots of sunshine and a sunburn to boot.

BAH!!! I should have hit the Su anways.

I went south instead of north. Great day but I hate dodging the hooligan dip netters and fighting them from blocking the launch. No bears, no fish, but a great day on the water either way.

There's something about skipping over crystal clear water that relaxes the nerves, that's until you slam into a rock the size of Rhoad Island.
