    Default TAP

Anyone else use the, The Archery Program (TAP) out there?

If you are unaware. It is a computer program for archers. You can select your bow, arrow and all particulars of your shooting setup. Then it will calculate your trajectory, KE, up hill/ down hill sight corrections and even in my case, print a yardage tape for the bow.

I printed a tape out the other day and attached it to my Cobra EasySlide. Everything is dead nuts for all yardages all they way to 55 yards so far. (Snow prevents me from backing up.)

I was thinking of Brian and the up hill, down hill tribulations of sheep and goat hunting. At least with the TAP, you can sit down and in a few minutes have a general idea of where you should aim.

I was tossing around: If the sheep is 50 yards out, but I have to aim for only 30, is it considered a 50 yard shot or a 30? ;D

Is this a web-based program, Dave? If so, do you have a link?

    Default Well

It is a 50 yard shot using your 30 yard pin

The animal appears smaller so pick your spot,

your arrow has to fly 50 yards,

you have additional arrow time in flight for the critter to move while your arrow is making its way to its mark, your bow may have less "sound" at the animal so he might not be as jumpy...

if it is a GRIZ - you have an extra 20 yards before ya git et.

    Question Mac or PC?

Sounds like a great little program. I downloaded the demo and it wouldn't open on my mac. I couldn't find any system specifications for it. Must be a microsoft program?

I loved it when I was league shooting. It helped my match my arrow to my bow.

That program is really nice to have. You can get correctly spined arrows, sight tapes, trajectories and ballistics. You have to count that shot at 50 yards because the animal is still 50 yards. All you have to do is pick a spot and hit it, don't need any software to tell us that. Now if I could just stick to that formula...

Once you got everything matched up it's time to sight it in.

I have a easy menthod. Once you know your speed and have your 20 sighted in you put several dot up. Go by the chart and it will tell you how high. This will get you in within a fracture on an inch of the mark. Then just fine tune.
